Cost verdict: for one domain, manual A/B testing and no more than 30,000 monthly visitors, Leadpages Grow has the lower documented USD subscription than Unbounce Experiment. For a single untested page, Unbounce's cheaper publishing tiers may be enough; comparing those with a CRO package is not like-for-like. Higher traffic, extra domains, AI optimization and users can determine eligibility before headline price.
Scope and current-price evidence
This GPP comparison owns the landing-page software bill, not “which builder is best.” AMF covers Leadpages workflow and team fit and replacement choices. Here we qualify traffic, tests, domains and paid collaboration first, then calculate an eligible commitment.
Verified October 8, 2026. The baseline is USD, before tax: Leadpages's current first-party new-platform documentation publishes its US list and annual amounts; Unbounce's pricing page publishes its USD monthly and yearly choices. Our browser's Leadpages regional storefront displays EUR, so those euro quotes are not silently substituted for US dollars. Existing-account prices and localized checkout can differ.
| Current documented plan | Monthly billing | Annual subscription / equivalent | Decision boundary |
|---|---|---|---|
| Leadpages Grow | $99 | $948/year / $79/month | Manual A/B; 4 domains |
| Leadpages Optimize | $199 | $1,908/year / $159/month | Smart Traffic; 6 domains; 3 team seats |
| Leadpages Scale | $399 | $3,828/year / $319/month | 10 domains; 10 team seats; advanced optimization |
| Unbounce Build | $99 | $888/year / $74/month | 20,000 visitors; 1 domain; 1 user; no A/B |
| Unbounce Experiment | $149 | $1,344/year / $112/month | 30,000 visitors; 2 domains; 3 users; manual A/B |
| Unbounce Optimize | $249 | $2,244/year / $187/month | 50,000 visitors; 3 domains; 5 users; AI optimization |
Annual equivalents are the displayed rates multiplied by twelve, not a pro-rata right to cancel after one month. Unbounce also lists Starter at $29 monthly or $22/month annually, limited to five pages, 500 visitors, one domain and one user. It is not an eligible comparator for a 20,000-visitor testing program. Leadpages's separate HTML Pub product is a publishing layer, not the full Leadpages CRO tier; do not reuse an old Standard/Pro table as the current product ladder.
Same requirements, different eligible bill
| Workload / minimum requirements | Leadpages documented eligible baseline | Unbounce eligible baseline | Result before extras |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 domain, 20,000 visitors, manual A/B, one operator | Grow $99/month; $948/year annual | Experiment $149/month; $1,344/year annual | Grow lower by $50 monthly or $396/year |
| 1 domain, 40,000 visitors, manual A/B, one operator | Grow $99/month; $948/year annual | Optimize $249/month; $2,244/year annual | Grow lower baseline; Experiment traffic cap fails |
| 1 domain, 40,000 visitors, AI routing, up to 3 users | Optimize $199/month; $1,908/year annual | Optimize $249/month; $2,244/year annual | Leadpages lower by $50 monthly or $336/year |
| 5 domains, team needing at most 3 included seats | Optimize $199/month; $1,908/year annual | Public Optimize has only 3 domains; request eligible quote | No invented five-domain Unbounce total |
These are subscription scenarios, not conversion-performance results. Leadpages advertises unlimited traffic on its current plans; its pages, domains, integrations, team seats and AI credits are separate constraints. Unbounce's visitor ceilings determine eligibility even if the number of published pages is unlimited. One supplier's “unlimited conversions” does not remove its visitor cap.
Publishing-only buyers should not buy a test they will not run
If the only job is one live page, no experimentation, one operator and fewer than 500 visitors, Unbounce Starter may be eligible. If traffic rises to 20,000 and testing is still unnecessary, Build can fit within its published cap. Leadpages Grow includes capabilities that this requirement does not use; its cheaper or more expensive position depends on which separately priced publishing product is actually relevant.
Do not claim that a $10 publishing product replaces a $149 experimentation package, or that paying for AI optimization is necessary for every landing page. Choose the job before the price. A company already publishing the required page in its existing website builder may have near-zero marginal hosting/software cost. That is a legitimate non-affiliate control, provided it meets form, consent, analytics and operational requirements.
Visitor measurement and traffic spikes
Count the unit each vendor actually bills. Visitors, pageviews, sessions and conversions are not interchangeable. Obtain the current definition of visitor counting, month boundaries and treatment of repeated visits before comparing analytics exports with the plan meter. Do not assume every bot visit is excluded or every pageview consumes another visitor solely because an analytics tool counts it.
At 30,000 visitors, Experiment is inside its stated ceiling; at 40,000 it is not. This page does not invent an overage rate or assume an automatic upgrade is free. Ask whether the actual order applies an overage, an upgrade, a warning or a negotiated extension. For a campaign expected to spike, budget the eligible peak requirement rather than an average that hides the launch month.
Unlimited traffic reduces one risk but does not eliminate service terms, abuse limits, storage, form handling or external-tool costs. Keep the published terms and your contract available. A performance marketer should not interpret a fixed software subscription as unlimited paid-ad spend or guaranteed conversion throughput.
Domains, sites, pages and workspaces
A root domain is not necessarily the same as a subdomain, site or client organization. Unbounce advertises unlimited subdomains alongside plan-specific root-domain limits. Leadpages's documented Grow, Optimize and Scale domain entitlements are four, six and ten respectively. Count distinct client domains before declaring the entry tier sufficient; do not assume five clients can all use one domain allowance.
Multiple organizations/workspaces and permissions can be separately priced. Leadpages documentation directs buyers to account billing for additional organization pricing. That is an unresolved quote input, not an invitation to insert a made-up rate. Unbounce Agency and Concierge offers have different domain/user scope and custom pricing. A domain-limit failure cannot be repaired in an economic table by ignoring the fifth domain.
Pages are another independent limit. Unbounce Starter caps pages while its higher listed plans advertise unlimited pages. Leadpages Grow's current documentation advertises unlimited pages. A page allowance does not automatically include unlimited tests, stored media, collaborators or every integration. Confirm all required dimensions on the actual product generation; legacy-account limits may not match new-platform marketing.
Testing and optimization: eligibility is not proof of uplift
Manual A/B testing is included from Leadpages Grow and Unbounce Experiment in the current ladder. Smart Traffic/AI routing belongs to the higher eligible plans. A/B and adaptive routing are not interchangeable evaluation designs: choose the method needed for the decision, including control groups, reporting and the ability to preserve a test. We do not claim one algorithm produces a quantified conversion lift.
Leadpages's current documentation specifies a six-variant testing allowance on Grow/Optimize and a higher Scale entitlement. Unbounce Experiment advertises unlimited variants. A team with a requirement for eight simultaneous variants cannot automatically treat Grow as equivalent because both have an “A/B” checkmark. The eligible tier and experimental practicality both need review.
Likewise, AI page-generation credits are not visitor credits. Leadpages's documented monthly pools are 40,000/80,000/160,000 across Grow/Optimize/Scale; top-ups are separate. The marginal bill depends on the actual generation workload and selected pack, not your ad traffic. Unbounce AI writing/routing entitlements have their own scope. Do not price an unlimited visitor allowance as unlimited generative-AI usage.
People, governance and client access
Unbounce's listed user entitlements are one on Build, three on Experiment and five on Optimize. Leadpages documentation clearly lists three team seats on Optimize and ten on Scale; Grow's exact collaborative seat entitlement must be confirmed if more than a single operator needs access. This uncertainty is explicitly excluded from the one-operator Grow examples.
A designer, campaign analyst and external client may need different rights. View access is not an editing entitlement. Do not share one login to manufacture a lower cost. If role-based controls, approval workflows, client isolation or a specified audit trail are mandatory, ask for the lowest eligible plan instead of assuming the self-serve price covers them.
Hosting and outside tools still have a cost
The public offers include hosted page delivery and the relevant custom-domain/SSL support; they do not include buying every desired domain name, ad spend, all CRM seats or your organization's full consent stack. Forms may require email automation, webhook processing or paid integrations. Check whether integrations are capped and whether an existing connector needs another subscription.
First-year total = eligible subscription + domain registration + required integration tools + migration/design labor + AI/usage extras + overlap with the old platform. Ongoing total removes only one-time implementation. Keep those lines separate from the software comparison. A $50/month subscription advantage is $600 over twelve monthly bills; a $1,500 one-time migration can exceed it in year one. That sensitivity is a budget check, not a claim about typical migration cost.
If a higher plan replaces an existing heatmap or personalization tool, subtract that license only after the actual required feature is verified and the old subscription is cancelled. Counting hypothetical consolidation as a saving can produce a misleading winner. The software must still be useful if an affiliate relationship disappears.
Commitment and renewal checks
Annual prices require the stated annual purchase. Leadpages's seven-day trial is not a perpetual free publishing plan, and Unbounce's current free-start/trial messaging does not grant a free production deployment indefinitely. Read payment and cancellation terms before entering a card. This analysis made no purchase or trial account.
Store the selected currency, plan generation, included domains, team rights, visitor allowance, trial-to-paid transition and renewal amount alongside the quote. An old grandfathered account can legitimately differ from a new customer offer. Do not infer a universal price increase from the existence of a different new-platform package.
Exact partner routes and direct evidence
Review current Leadpages regional pricing (partner link) (partner link); Review Unbounce annual pricing (partner link; annual destination) (partner link). The Unbounce route is annual-pricing-specific; it is not used as a monthly checkout CTA. Its legacy route name does not establish a current 21% discount: the current pricing page's displayed yearly offer governs.
For monthly intent, use Unbounce pricing directly and select Monthly. Evidence also remains direct at Leadpages pricing and Leadpages's new-platform USD plan documentation. Normal page-opening destination checks succeeded; no purchase, conversion or commission attribution is proven.
Buyer FAQ
Does unlimited traffic make Leadpages universally cheaper?
No. Domains, seats, test requirements and selected add-ons still matter, and a publishing-only buyer may not need Grow. Unlimited traffic removes one constraint, not all economic constraints.
Can I compare Grow with Build for A/B testing?
No. The current Build tier does not include that entitlement. The matched manual-testing comparison starts at Unbounce Experiment, provided its traffic and user caps fit.
What happens beyond Unbounce's visitor cap?
Get the order's overage/upgrade terms. This page marks the cheaper tier ineligible; it does not invent a fee or promise uninterrupted free excess traffic.
Why are local euro prices different?
Localized checkout, taxes and offers can differ from documented US list prices. This USD comparison does not convert the regional display or promise the same tax-inclusive total everywhere.
