Auto is a router, not a single fixed-price model. Each request is billed at the published list price of the model Cursor selects. On Teams and Enterprise plans, eligible third-party model requests also incur the $0.25 per million token Cursor Token Rate across input, output and cached tokens. First-party Cursor models, including Composer and Cursor's Grok models, are exempt from that surcharge.
Historical only: Enterprise Auto Cost used fixed rates of $1.25/M input and cache write, $0.25/M cache read and $6/M output through September 7, 2026. Do not use those legacy rates to estimate current Auto spend. Current cost depends on the models the router chooses and the token mix.
Cursor Pro costs $20/month; GitHub Copilot Individual costs $10/month. That's a 2× price difference. But they're different products:

When you exhaust your 500 fast premium requests on the Pro plan, Cursor automatically falls back to slow mode for the same models. Response times increase (typically 5–15 seconds vs. 1–3 seconds), but you still have access to the same AI models. Slow requests are unlimited on Pro.
Business ($40/user/month) adds privacy mode — your code is not used for model training — plus admin controls, centralized billing, and SSO. For companies with security or compliance requirements, these features are mandatory. For smaller teams without those needs, Pro ($20/month) is usually sufficient.
Cursor has offered free Pro access for verified students through some academic programs. Check their official site for current availability, as these promotions change. The Hobby plan is always free for students getting started.
