Adobe CC's 2023 price increase caught enterprise customers mid-contract. Individual All Apps plan went from $54.99 to $54.99/month (held), but Photography plan jumped from $9.99 to $19.99/month (+100%). Teams plan went from $84.99 to $89.99/user/month. The bigger issue: Adobe Firefly AI features are now integrated across the suite — meaning customers who don't upgrade lose access to AI-powered generation, background removal, and object selection. AI is the new upsell forcing compliance with higher pricing.
Figma survived the Adobe acquisition collapse and restructured Enterprise pricing. The failed Adobe acquisition (blocked by EU regulators in 2023) forced Figma to refocus on independent growth.
