Prices vary by region and architecture. The current Base plan includes 10 GB of network-attached storage; additional storage is $0.50 per GB per instance, so a three-node HA production branch effectively adds $1.50 per GB. The pricing calculator is authoritative for a selected configuration.

Important: PlanetScale Postgres and Vitess do not share identical branch semantics. Vitess development branches are usage-based after the included hours; Postgres development branches are billed as clusters.

PlanetScale now sells two materially different database engines. Postgres offers familiar PostgreSQL compatibility and a $5 single-node entry point. Vitess is MySQL-compatible, includes PlanetScale's database branching workflow and is designed for horizontal scale. A cheaper Postgres configuration is not a direct substitute for a production Vitess cluster.
